African medical helps initiative
During the month of August, 2021, half of my website profits will be donated to Kairos Hospital outside of Kampala, Uganda, to help expand and better meet the needs of the surrounding area. (Info below)
I have often traveled to the equatorial East African country of Uganda. Twenty years ago I began accompanying my husband, Bob Lidfors, on trips into remote Ugandan village areas. He would bring teams of international helpers to work with a Ugandan pastor in establishing needed educational, medical and church-related projects throughout the country. Being a part of these amazing African adventures has been one of the most exciting and rewarding highlights of my life!
As an artist, my first inclination while visiting new places is to record visual impressions with a camera. When I return to my studio I use my photos as reference materials. After each Ugandan trip, I would disappear and “paint Africa” for weeks at a time! My African painting series now includes some of my all-time favorites. These images are currently available to purchase through my website as original oil paintings or as fine art prints. The vibrant colors give viewers easy access to this colorful and vibrant land.
Kairos Hospital provides quality, affordable medical care to a developing area outside of Kampala, Uganda. The hospital opened it's doors in 2014, when the first of ten proposed buildings was completed.
Bread of Life Ministries of Minnesota, represented by Bob Lidfors, raises funds for the hospital's development and ships needed medical equipment to the hospital. The current building project is a housing facility for nurses. (Please contact me if you wish further information.)
