African medical helps initiative
During the month of March, 2022, a third of all website profits will be donated to Kairos Hospital outside of Kampala, Uganda. This high quality medical center is expanding to meet the growing needs of the surrounding area. At the end of this month, Bob Lidfors will visit this project in Uganda. Donations to this medical initiative can be funneled through his visit to on-the-spot needs there.
UGANDA and Me
I have often traveled to the equatorial East African country of Uganda. Twenty years ago I began accompanying my husband, Bob Lidfors, on trips into remote Ugandan village areas. Working with a Ugandan pastor, he would bring teams of international helpers to support needed educational, medical and church-related projects throughout the country. Being a part of these exciting African adventures has given me an appreciation for the dynamic, colorful life of this country and has been a major highlight of my life!
As an artist, my first inclination when visiting new places is to record my impressions using my camera. Back home in my studio, these photos become reference material for paintings which give permanence to my fleeting travel impressions. My African painting series has grown and now includes some of my all-time favorite images. The vibrant colors and patterns help give access to this dynamic, diverse and fertile land.
kairos hospital
Kairos Hospital provides quality and affordable medical care in Seeta, a developing area outside of Kampala, Uganda. The hospital opened it's doors in 2014, when the first of ten proposed buildings was completed. It continues to expand its medical capacity to this day.
Bread of Life Ministries of Minnesota, represented by Bob Lidfors, raises funds for the hospital's development and medical equipment needs. The current building project is a housing facility for nurses. (Please contact me if you wish further information.)
